Attorneys Sara Fathi Nejad and Brandon S. Atwater, of Atwater Law PLLC, were honored to serve as Instructors for Cary Academy’s 2016 Summer Law Camp, a week long program which took place the week of Monday, July 18th – Friday, August 22nd. The camp, entitled, “Exploring Your Legal System” was designed to allow students, grades 6-8, to learn about the American Legal system.
As part of the program, students discussed and debated the foundation and functions of American government in the United States. In addition, students explored various areas of law, including, constitutional law, criminal law, torts, contract, and counter-terrorism law.
In addition, students visited the North Carolina Supreme Court. Graciously, the Honorable J. Bryan Boyd, Clerk of the North Carolina Supreme Court, gave the students a tour and informative account of the history and function of the Court.
The camp concluded with the students participating in an interactive mock trial exercise, which incorporated various areas issues of law covered earlier in the week.
